Happy, Healthy, Satisfied

Ask me anything   My Story

Being a lower weight doesn’t make you a better person, it doesn’t change who you are. All it does is change what you look like. Find the things that you like about yourself now, and enhance those positive attributes. That is how you find true happiness :)

Haven’t posted in a while…

I haven’t posted in a while, I’ve been caught up doing a lot of things. I’ve finished my relapse prevention plan and sent that out to my close family and friends, and even got more volunteering done at the yoga studio. I love working in that environment and keeping up with the yoga world. I miss home so much today, but I know I’ll be back there soon <3

Just some facts…

Prevalence

  • In the United States as many as 10 million females and 1 million males are fighting a life and death battle with an eating disorder such as anorexia or bulimia. Millions more are struggling with binge eating disorder. However, because of the secretiveness and shame assosciated with eating disorders many cases are probably not reported.
  • Anorexia Nervosa is the 3rd most common chronic illness among adolescents.
  • 95% of those who have eating disorders are between the ages of 15 and 25.

Mortality rate

  • Eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of any mental illness.
  • The mortality rate associated with anorexia nervosa is 12x higher than the death rate of ALL causes of death for females 15- to 24-years-old.
  • 20% of people suffering from anorexia nervosa will prematurely die from complications related to their eating disorder, including suicide and heart problems.
